Four clockwise laps of a roughly 40 km loop linking the foothills of Mt Ikoma and the Yata Hills in Nara. Mostly runnable satoyama trail, with night views over the Osaka Plain from 'Bokura no Hiroba'. An unranked challenge for runners new to 100 miles.
The course tops out at 573 m (low point 76 m). About 50% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). In 2025, 95% of starters finished. The median finish was about 38 h, through 2 nights.
