A loop from Irihirose in Uonuma, Niigata, passing the Sansai Kaikan aid twice and linking aid stations such as Herb Koen. It runs through mountains with little phone coverage and, like the 160 km, starts on a Friday out of consideration for a protected zone of the quasi-national park.
The course tops out at 1,543 m (low point 208 m). There are 4 big climbs: 469 m around 0–6 km; 1,212 m around 11–24 km; 354 m around 39–44 km; 1,077 m around 56–64 km. About 40% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). In 2026, 87% of starters finished. The median finish was about 18 h, through one night.
