The opening climb from Grindelwald to Grosse Scheidegg is not to be underestimated. Then come First and Bachalpsee, a 360-degree panorama on the Faulhorn summit and on toward Schynige Platte, under partial self-sufficiency.
The course tops out at 2,677 m (low point 894 m). There are 2 big climbs: 1,367 m around 0–19 km; 632 m around 23–26 km. About 30% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). The median finish was about 10 h.
