Laps from Kirikushi Elementary School on Etajima, Hiroshima: each lap climbs Kuman-dake and Furutaka-yama, then returns along road-only coastline on the island's north shore. Created for first-time 100-milers, but the shadeless road sections keep finish rates low.
The course tops out at 387 m (low point 0 m). About 60% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade), so there is a lot of running. In 2026, 38% of starters finished — a tough one. The median finish was about 33 h, through one night.
