KYOTO GREAT ROUND is a year-end long-trail series built on the Kyoto Isshu Trail, linking the ridges of Higashiyama, Kitayama and Nishiyama. Courses are unmarked: runners navigate with the official GPX. The 200K is the longest category: an evening start from the Biwako Hotel in Otsu, finishing at Nagisa Park, with no marking or support, two nights out, and a small field selected by application.
The course tops out at 911 m (low point 9 m). About 40% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). In 2025, 50% of starters finished — a tough one. The median finish was about 43 h, through 2 nights.
