Starting and finishing at the Takumishuku No. 2 car park in Mariko, the 20th post town on the old Tokaido road in Suruga-ku, Shizuoka, this roughly 22 km loop links the Mariko hills. It passes the Meiji-era tunnel and Tsuta-no-Hosomichi path at Utsunoya Pass and 470 m Mt. Mankan. Shizuoka oden is served at an aid station and Chojiya's tororo-jiru at the finish.
The course tops out at 474 m (low point 37 m). There are 2 big climbs: 437 m around 0–5 km; 394 m around 10–14 km. About 40% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). In 2026, 96% of starters finished. The median finish was about 4 h.
