The shortest race at Shiga Kogen, starting and finishing at Sun Valley. It is an easy way into the summer trails of this UNESCO Eco Park plateau, with its lakes, wetlands and alpine flowers, and the cool air makes it a good first mountain race.
The course tops out at 1,990 m (low point 1,326 m). The main climb comes early on: 664 m around 4–10 km. The longest descent drops 664 m around 10 km at about 15% on average. Only about 20% is gentle (under 5% grade); most of it is climbing or descending. In 2026, 98% of starters finished. The median finish was about 4 h.
