Starting at midnight from Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas, it crosses Gran Canaria from north to south through inland mountain towns such as Teror, Artenara and Tejeda, finishing in Maspalomas on the south coast. Part of the World Trail Majors circuit.
The course tops out at 1,750 m (low point 1 m). 6 climbs of 500 m or more keep coming; the biggest is 881 m around 52–59 km. About 40% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). The median finish was about 25 h, through 2 nights.
