Tarawera Ultra-Trail T102 (New Zealand) 2027
Also known as: Tarawera T102
A point-to-point on New Zealand's North Island from Kawerau to Rotorua, running beneath the peaks of Tarawera, Ruawahia and Wahanga past five lakes, through native bush on the Western Okataina track, the redwoods and steaming Sulphur Point to the Village Green downtown.
The course tops out at 730 m (low point 40 m). There are 3 big climbs: 337 m around 0–26 km; 570 m around 36–47 km; 329 m around 56–62 km. About 60% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade), so there is a lot of running. In 2026, 83% of starters finished. The median finish was about 18 h, through one night.
