It cuts across the heart of the Hengchun Peninsula to a small peak near the southern tip, surrounded by sea on three sides. Climbing is modest, but the terrain rolls constantly over roots, riverbeds, loose gravel and open grassland.
The course tops out at 316 m (low point 12 m). The main climb comes early on: 304 m around 10–13 km. About 50% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). In 2026, 95% of starters finished. The median finish was about 9 h.
