A year-end loop around Kyoto based on the Kyoto Isshu Trail, linking the ridges of the Higashiyama, Kitayama and Nishiyama hills from Nagisa Park in Otsu. There is no course marking: runners navigate themselves with GPX tracks and maps.
The course tops out at 788 m (low point 8 m). There are 2 big climbs: 714 m around 11–23 km; 580 m around 72–87 km. About 40% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). In 2025, 63% of starters finished. The median finish was about 28 h, through one night.
