KYOTO GREAT ROUND is a year-end long-trail series built on the Kyoto Isshu Trail, linking the ridges of Higashiyama, Kitayama and Nishiyama. Courses are unmarked: runners navigate with the official GPX. The 160K starts and finishes at Nagisa Park in Otsu, circling Kyoto non-stop in between.
The course tops out at 872 m (low point 8 m). There are 2 big climbs: 715 m around 12–24 km; 785 m around 53–57 km. About 40% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). In 2025, 24% of starters finished — a tough one. The median finish was about 30 h, through one night.
