SEA ALPS TRAIL JOURNEY 2026
A one-way race of about 49 km along the Michinoku Coastal Trail through Fudai, Tanohata and Iwaizumi on the northern coast of Iwate. It starts at Fudai Beach Park Kiraumi and passes aid stations at Kitayamazaki, the Hiraiga floodgate and the Unosu cliffs before finishing at Hama-no-eki Omoto Aidokan. The coastline, known as the 'Alps of the sea', comes with long stretches of singletrack.
The course tops out at 208 m (low point 9 m). About 50% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). In 2025, 98% of starters finished. The median finish was about 8 h.
