Starts and finishes in Birkat Al Mouz. After a loop around the town, a steep climb leads to open ridge running, stone paths and desert slopes, before descending to the shaded palm-tree gardens of the oasis.
The course tops out at 1,016 m (low point 551 m). The main climb comes right from the start: 442 m around 0–11 km. About 60% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade), so there is a lot of running. In 2025, 93% of starters finished. The median finish was about 3 h.
