A short loop from Zhaohua Ancient Town in northern Sichuan into the hills around Niutou Village and back. It is the entry-level distance of Ultra-Trail Shudao, passing historic sites along the Shu Road such as a Three Kingdoms battlefield and old post-road relics.
The course tops out at 1,104 m (low point 466 m). The main climb comes right from the start: 637 m around 0–11 km. About 50% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). In 2025, 99% of starters finished. The median finish was about 4 h.
