Running from Komagaike to Komagane Farms at the foot of the Central Alps in Komagane, Nagano, the course climbs mountainsides that rise sharply from town and crosses several peaks. It mixes technical sections with open ridges and is part of the NIPPON TRGP series.
The course tops out at 1,976 m (low point 728 m). There are 2 big climbs: 1,116 m around 0–7 km; 971 m around 21–29 km. Only about 20% is gentle (under 5% grade); most of it is climbing or descending. In 2026, 84% of starters finished. The median finish was about 7 h.
