A mountain race based in Komagane, Nagano, that runs through the night along the Central Alps ridgelines across Komagane, Ina and Miyada, over a series of peaks and valleys. The event traces its roots to the Nishikoma mountain marathon first held in 1925.
The course tops out at 2,095 m (low point -1 m). There are 4 big climbs: 1,132 m around 0–21 km; 1,367 m around 36–47 km; 941 m around 61–64 km; 950 m around 66–78 km. The longest descent drops 2,096 m around 47 km at about 15% on average. Only about 30% is gentle (under 5% grade); most of it is climbing or descending. In 2026, 87% of starters finished. The median finish was about 18 h, through one night.
