KYOTO GREAT ROUND 30K 2026
Also known as: KGR160K · KGR 160K · KGR30K · KGR 30K · KGR INTRO · KYOTO GREAT ROUND 30km
KYOTO GREAT ROUND is a year-end long-trail series built on the Kyoto Isshu Trail, linking the ridges of Higashiyama, Kitayama and Nishiyama. Courses are unmarked: runners navigate with the official GPX. The 30K is the introductory category, running one way from the Yodo River bank in Oyamazaki to Nagisa Park in Otsu. It is short, but the trails are still unmarked, which makes it a first taste of a self-navigated race.
The course tops out at 589 m (low point 8 m). There are 2 big climbs: 462 m around 18–21 km; 316 m around 23–25 km. About 60% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade), so there is a lot of running. In 2025, 76% of starters finished. The median finish was about 5 h.
