Also known as: THREE PEAKS
From the Sanbuichi spring hall in Hokuto, on the southern slopes of Yatsugatake, this course is almost all trail and climbs to Mitsugashira at 2,500 m mid-race. Rocky descents and steep climbs make it technical, and entrants must log trail-maintenance work.
The course tops out at 2,558 m (low point 999 m). There are 3 big climbs: 589 m around 0–13 km; 401 m around 15–22 km; 1,010 m around 25–29 km. The longest descent drops 1,036 m around 29 km at about 23% on average. Only about 30% is gentle (under 5% grade); most of it is climbing or descending. In 2025, 75% of starters finished. The median finish was about 8 h.
