An evening start from Mui Wo on Hong Kong's Lantau Island, running the length of the island through its two country parks to Tai O, with steep climbs and descents including Lantau Peak (Fung Wong Shan), then back east via Ngong Ping, Chi Ma Wan and Discovery Bay to finish in Mui Wo.
The course tops out at 892 m (low point -4 m). There are 3 big climbs: 441 m around 40–46 km; 620 m around 48–53 km; 446 m around 95–97 km. About 50% of the distance is gentle (under 5% grade). In 2024, 49% of starters finished — a tough one. The median finish was about 24 h, through one night.
